Lahol Wala Quwwat. I didn’t say that, obviously.
KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim said on Tuesday that Allah, the Pakistan Army, and the United States support the government, as do the people of Pakistan.
Really? He further added:
“Allah, the Army and America are with us besides the people,” Rahim said, adding that with the blessings of Allah, General Pervez Musharraf, the prime minister, corps commander, and now Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao had survived attacks. He said that Gen Musharraf was more democratic than “so-called” democratic leaders, despite being in uniform.
First I thought the awam (people of Pakistan) was ill-informed on Army issue, even Politicians don’t get it. A General can only be as far democratic as listening to his corps-commanders. Though there’s no hard written rule which says a General can’t listen to his troops, but usually it’s observed the same. He’s not supposed to be democratic. And this is probably not as bad in Armed Forces as say in a civil government. But to say that a General is more democratic than politicians means either he’s a lunatic general or the rest of the politicians are lunatics.
Now, a bit of democracy your way.
